Original drawings made by Brazil-born visual artist P Gurgel-Segrillo: figurative explorations on cross-cultural identity and womanhood, empowerment and femininity. Furthermore the drawing series has been influenced by the afro-Brazilian orixas. They are deities or divinities and are such a great part of Brazilian culture. P’s representations portray them as timeless heroes and sages, inhabitants of the urban landscapes, full of magic as well as power and a profound sense of self-worth, of dignity.
